The Timberman is held on the grounds of Sugar Lake Lodge. Sugar Lake Lodge is one of Minnesota’s premier destination golf course resorts, a resort for family gatherings and a collaborative leadership center.
Super Sprint: 264 yards/.15 mile swim, 5.5 mile bike 1.5 mile run (The Super Sprint is perfect for the first timer or younger athlete looking for a shorter race).
Sprint: 528 yards/.3 mile swim, 11 mile bike, 3 mile run
International: 1760 yards/1 mile swim, 25 mile bike, 6 mile run
Teams (2 or 3 person) can participate in the Sprint and International races. The Super Sprint race is for individuals only.
The event is chip timed by JMS Racing Services. In 2017, JMS Racing Services timed over 55 races.
The Timberman is a USAT sanctioned race. USAT official(s) will be monitoring the course in the water and on land by motorcycle. EVERY athlete needs to bring a valid ID in order to pick up his/her packet. USAT members need to provide their membership card at packet pickup. Packets have to be picked up by the race participant. If you are a minor (age 17 and under), a parent/legal guardian needs to accompany you to packet pickup and be onsite during race day, this applies to individuals and team members -- NO EXCEPTIONS!
Participants need to either have a 1-day license or annual license.

Sugar Lake Lodge is a golf destination resort in Minnesota. During the race, the resort will be open for golfing. There will be no triathlon parking in the lot at Otis’s Grill. There will be limited parking in the dirt lot near the main building. This lot normally fills by 6:45 am. Once the dirt lot is full parking will be available on the east side resort road and farther out on the county roads. Please plan accordingly.

10:00 AM - Timberkids Triathlon, at Robert J. Elkington Middle School, Grand Rapids. The Timberkids Tri is presented by the Grand Rapids/Greenway Swim Association with registration through ISD 318 Community Education. Visit ISD 318 Community Ed to register.
5:30 - 8:00 PM - Race packet pickup and pasta dinner, Sugar Lake Lodge - Main Building (Racers $?, Guests $? (We are waiting for Sugar Lake to give us the rates for 2018) (in 2017 Racers were $8 and Guests $15)) Dinner includes a variety of pastas and sauces, salad, bread, dessert and beverage.
6:15 PM - Race Director comments and volunteer prize drawing.
